It’s already July!! Here’s our top ten things to put on your Philly summer 2026 bucket list before it’s suddenly fall:
-
Watch the sunset from the Schuylkill River Trail: Walk, bike, or rollerblade between Boathouse Row and the South Street Bridge, then grab a bite nearby at Rachel’s favorite, Sally.
-
Spend a night at Spruce Street Harbor Park: Skip the tourist checklist and go for happy hour, hammocks, live music, or a casual evening with friends. There is a free concert the last Saturday of every month!
-
Try a neighborhood you’ve never really explored: Pick one and spend the day eating, shopping, and wandering, like in Rachel’s neighborhood East Passyunk or Amanda’s in Midtown.
-
Take advantage of free outdoor movies: You can do that every Wednesday night at Sunset Social and every Thursday on the Schuylkill Banks.
-
Go kayaking on the Schuylkill or Delaware River: Bartram’s Gardens offers beginner-friendly kayaking for free!
-
Eat and drink through a summer food festival or beer garden: From the Southeast Asian Market (Rachel’s favorite) to the rotating Parks on Tap sites, there’s always something happening.
-
Catch a Phillies game – even if you’re not a huge baseball fan: Dollar dogs may come and go, but Citizens Bank Park is one of the city’s best summer atmospheres (often with theme nights and giveaways).
-
Visit a museum during evening hours: Many museums offer late openings like Friday nights at PMA or Danielle’s favorite, The Rodin, which is pay-what-you-wish every day and has a free garden bar.
-
Take a day trip without leaving SEPTA: Ride to Wissahickon Valley Park for hiking, head to the Navy Yard for their third Thursday markets, or spend a day in Chestnut Hill (don’t miss the food hall).
-
Treat Philly like you’re visiting for the first time: Pick one iconic attraction you’ve always meant to see, like going with Amanda to Eastern State Penitentiary or the Chinese Lantern Festival, and finally check it off your list.
Feel free to share with us what you have done on this list 🙂
