Amanda Burnham’s installation, “In Situ,” is the last exhibition to be presented by the Gershman Y Gallery as it transcends into the Gershman Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival (GPJFF). The exhibition will run from September 6 – November 16, 2018 with a FREE artist reception on Thursday, September 27, 6 PM — 8 PM.
Burnham makes drawings and large, site specific installations with drawings. For her Gershman Y exhibition, she is concentrating on the Gershman building and Broad Street as her subject for her large installation. Completed in 1928, the building was designed by architects Frank E. Hahn and S. Brian Baylinson, and considered at the time, the largest Jewish institutional building of its kind in the country. The exhibition was curated by J. Susan Isaacs.
