Civil Conversations Project

Please Join us for a Civil Conversation at Bryn Athyn Cathedral, Sunday February 17th 7pm

What is a Civil Conversation?
The Civil Conversations Project is an initiative of Krista Tippet from the podcast OnBeing. We are implementing a civil conversation locally in coordination with Interfaith Philadelphia. The Civil Conversations Project is a collection of audio, video, writings, and resources for planting new conversations in families and communities. How do we speak the questions we don’t know how to ask each other? Can we find ways to cross gulfs between us about politics and the meaning of community itself? How to engage our neighbors who have become strangers? Can we do that even while we continue to hold passionate disagreements on deep, contrasting convictions? You will have your own questions – particular to your community and concerns – to add.

What to expect?
We will join together in community in the social hall of Bryn Athyn Cathedral. We will listen together to a brief portion of a Krista Tippet OnBeing Podcast, then break into small groups to discuss. The intention of this gathering is to create a space for meaningful dialogue, that we might speak together differently that we might live together differently. More details coming soon. All are welcome. Please bring a friend.

This event is put on by Bryn Athyn Church and NewChurch Live as we wrap up the “Opening Up” series where we’ve been exploring vulnerability, authenticity, humility and courage.

All are welcome to this free community event at the Bryn Athyn Cathedral Feb 17th, 7pm. Please bring a friend! Questions or to get involved contact smallgroups@brynathynchurch.org
