The Gershman Y is excited to present a new three part dance series featuring Yiddish Dance master Steven Lee Weintraub! The series will introduce participants to a number of Yiddish dance concepts, stylings, and vocabulary and have you moving in no time! No dance experience required.
GO FIGURE • April 12 • This session will explore the rich tradition of Jewish figure dances (dances in formations, like square dances). Learn the essential wedding square dance, the Sher, which had its own unique Philadelphia version! Other dances like the Patsh Tants (clapping dance) and other old and new dances will be reviewed.
