Film Screening: To Dust

Shmuel (Géza Röhrig, Son of Saul), a recently widowed Hasidic cantor, can’t stop worrying about his wife, even after she’s been buried. Breaking his own religious customs, Shmuel approaches Albert (Matthew Broderick, Election), a bungling high school science teacher, to help him understand the process of decomposition and hopefully put an end to the nightmares he keeps having. Reluctant at first, Albert soon gives in to Shmuel and the two embark on a series of misadventures and outrageous experiments to better understand — and come to terms with — what happens when we pass.

Produced by renowned actors Emily Mortimer, Alessandro Nivola, and Ron Perlman, TO DUST is an amusing and unconventional dramedy about grief, acceptance, and how far we’d go for those we love.
