Geminids: A Night Under The Shooting Stars

Could we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars? Could you really use a wish right now? Well on Monday, December 13th, you won’t need to pretend! Shooting stars occur during meteor showers, and the Geminids are the most stunning meteor shower of the year! Astrology has a long history/tradition in the LGBTQIA+ community, and astronomy has a long history/tradition in the Jewish community.

Come learn the basics of astrology, astronomy, and how they intersect, all set against the backdrop of a brilliant sparkling night sky! Bring warm clothes, glasses (if you need them), a picnic blanket or folding chair, and a mental list of wishes/intentions.

RSVP on eventbrite to attend. You will receive the meeting place location after registration.

This event is completely outdoors for COVID safety practices (and in order to see the night sky); if weather does not cooperate (e.g. clouds and/or precipitation), we will simply have to cancel, as this is a once-a-year cosmic phenomenon.

Accessibility: Please email  with accessibility requests.

Our LGBTQIA+ programming is for anyone who wants to explore the intersectionality of Jewish and queer identities. This event in particular is open to members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies; all are welcome!
