High Holidays Synagogue Matchmaking

High holiday matching (2)

In your 20s and 30s and looking for a synagogue for the High Holidays? It can feel overwhelming!

Every year, we hear from people who want to attend High Holiday services but are not sure where to start, are unfamiliar with the options, or feel nervous walking through the doors of a new synagogue.

Whether you are new to the area, reconnecting with Jewish life, or still searching for a community that feels like the right fit, we are here to help.

Here is how it works:

  • We get to know you. You tell us about your background, interests, values, and what you are hoping to find in a synagogue community.
  • We get to know the synagogues. We learn about each participating synagogue, what makes it unique, and who tends to thrive there.
  • We make the match. Using the same thoughtful approach we use in our matchmaking program, we connect you with the synagogue that feels like the best fit and introduce you personally to people there before the holidays.
  • You attend. You experience the High Holidays with a community that was thoughtfully matched to you. You may discover a synagogue where you want to return long after the High Holidays are over.

A note about affordability: Participating in this matching program is completely free. While some synagogues charge for High Holiday tickets, some participating congregations have reserved a limited number of free or reduced cost tickets for participants. Your budget is one of the factors we will consider when making your match.

If you would like to be matched, all you have to do is fill out this form! We have had such an enthusiastic response that we have extended the deadline to Tuesday August 18th at 5pm.

We will connect you with your synagogue the week of August 24th.

Presented by the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia Center City Community and Tribe 12.
