If you haven’t yet welcomed Shabbat with our community, we would love to have you join us! Our service is niggun-based, with song and music (usually guitar and/or drum). Rabbi Rachel Kobrin of Congregation Adath Jeshurun, accompanied by guest musicians, leads the community in raising the ruach. Remember, spirituality is contagious!
We welcome you to a comfortable and engaging Shabbat experience. We provide prayer books (with Hebrew, English and transliteration) for those that would like them, and you’ll find that others may not be singing or praying out loud, but are present in the moment and participate as they are comfortable (whether that’s reading and following along, humming, niggunim (lai-lai-lais are great), or a little of everything).
We love young families, and children are encouraged to attend, from infant on up. The service is almost exactly one hour.
The 6:30-7:00p shmooze has a variety of beverages, most of it provided by volunteers such as YOU! Juice, seltzer, lemonade, beer, wine, whiskey, etc.
Dinner will be vegetarian or vegan, exact provider TBD!
There is no charge to join us; we are generously supported by Congregation Adath Jeshurun. If you are interested in contributing, we would love your help in planning future events, design work for our events and social media presence, setting/cleaning up, and/or in providing some beverages (alcoholic or non).
