Let’s Tour a Mummers Club!

mummer

It’s a Philadelphia New Years tradition… Now peep behind the scenes!

Join Tribe 12 to learn about a significant aspect of Philadelphia history. The Mummers Parade is believed to be the oldest folk festival in the United States, and we’ll be touring a Mummer’s Clubhouse in South Philly, led by our theater tribe’s Caleb!

The Golden Sunrise is a nonprofit devoted to creating diversity and teaching the craft of the fancy style of Mummery. We will meet at a local coffee shop Grindcore, a stone’s throw from the clubhouse!

Inclusion notes: Tribe 12 seeks to include all individuals regardless of disability (visible or invisible), financial circumstances, or other needs. We aim to be transparent about to what extent we can accommodate needs at each individual event. A sign language interpreter is available by request. If the cost of this event is a barrier for you, please let us know and we can help. To aid us in accommodating these and other needs for you to fully participate in this event, please email yo@tribe12.org.

Tribe 12 connects people in their 20s/30s to Jewish life and community in Philadelphia today so they will choose to stay connected tomorrow. We welcome people who identify as Jewish, whose partner is Jewish, or who are exploring Judaism.

If you require any accommodations in order to fully participate in our programming, please see our page on accommodations. If you require any financial assistance to participate, contact us at info@tribe12.org.

By attending this program, you are committing to follow our Code of Conduct. If you feel that the Code of Conduct is violated at any Tribe 12 program, you can find information on reporting an incident here.
