Calling all matchmaker wannabes, curious cupids and besties! It’s time for the ultimate matchmaking extravaganza… introducing Pitch-A-Friend, the most fun and heartwarming event of the year! Watch as friends turn into IRL cupids, presenting their awesome single friends on stage with creativity and flair. Witness the laughs, the “awws,” and the occasional super embarrassing childhood story as each friend gets their shining moment in the spotlight. After the presentations, stay for a reverse happy hour to mingle and chat with the very same friends who were just showcased. Don’t miss the chance to spark some romance, laughter, and unexpected connections!
7:30pm: Doors open – get yourself a seat and pick up some popcorn and movie snacks
8pm: Pitches on stage emceed by Tribe 12 matchmakers Ross Beroff and Michal Naisteter
9:30pm: Reverse happy hour – have a glass of wine and shmooze with the now-famous people from the presentations
What will a pitch entail? The purpose of a pitch is to present a single person in a positive light to a room full of people who may be interested in dating them or know someone who would be! The person pitching will share their presentation on stage and the person they are showcasing will be there in the room. Each pitch will include a visual element like a Powerpoint presentation or a science fair style poster board. At this event, there will be 10 pitches and each will run 3-5 minutes a piece.
Who is this event for? The people being pitched will be in Tribe 12’s demographic: people in their 20s and 30s who are dating in Philly’s Jewish community….. but ANYONE can be a member of the audience and ANYONE can pitch! Picture a married couple pitching their awesome somehow-still-single friend, two people who used to date pitching each other, a group of longtime friends pitching their ride or die, a grandmother pitching her grandson… sky’s the limit! Like all things at Tribe 12, this event is queer, gender, kink and poly affirming.
$5 in advance / $10 at the door. If you pitch a friend, you come for free! Not sure you have a friend capable of presenting your awesomeness? For a $100 donation to Tribe 12, one of our matchmakers will work directly with you to create a presentation and pitch you!
