PJFF37 Presents: Family Commitments

*STUDENTS WITH VALID ID CAN ATTEND THIS FILM FOR FREE! TICKETS MUST BE REGISTERED IN-PERSON WITH ID.

The 37th Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival presents FAMILY COMMITMENTS, a delightful German LGBT screwball comedy.

David and Khaled are ready to get serious. It never mattered to either of them that David comes from a Jewish family, and Khaled an Arab one. When David proposes, Khaled can no longer hide who he is from his homophobic father. Although David has come out to family and friends, like Khaled, he has built a house of cards based on lies. Ironically, both David and Khaled’s parents want the same thing for their sons – they wish they’d settle down with a nice girl and start having children. Their wish is curiously granted by way of Sarah, a young woman from David’s past who shows up nine months pregnant with his child. Will Sarah’s news be the push this couple needs to come clean with their families?

With its quirky soundtrack, eye-catching set design, and genuine insights into the highs and lows of interfaith romance, FAMILY COMMITMENTS is an endearing and outrageously fun take on family and love in a modern, multi-cultural city.
