The 37th Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival presents HOLY AIR, a deadpan, highly affecting comedy that reminds us that when the world throws us a curveball, sometimes the best solution is to laugh it off and carry on.
Written, directed and starring Shady Srour, HOLY AIR follows Adam, a Christian Arab living in Nazareth with an unhappy job, an ill father, and a pregnant wife. Desperate to make money, Adam thinks up of a way to make a living: selling little bottles of holy air from Nazareth. Using the small glass-blown bottles left over from his father’s shop, Adam climbs Mount Precipice each day, bottles the air, and sells it to eager tourists.
