Rosh Chodesh for Everyone

For thousands of years, people have gathered under each new moon to eat chocolate and connect with each other for Rosh Chodesh (the beginning of the Hebrew month). This beautiful holiday has traditionally been a space reserved for women because the moon is often associated with femininity. Tribe 12 LGBTQIA+, Repair the World: Philadelphia, and Access Point have come together to create an inclusive Rosh Chodesh experience that asks the question: How can we make our community more welcoming and accessible?

All are welcome to join a bright celebration of Shabbat and the beginning of the month of Shevat! Share riches from the past week and month with a guided meditation for Shevat, conversation around what makes a community accessible, and hot chocolate.

Accessibility: The event location is wheelchair accessible through the main entrance with a wheelchair accessible and gender neutral restroom. A sign language interpreter is available by request. It is a low-scent/no scent space. To aid us in accommodating these and other needs for you to fully participate in this event, please email yo@tribe12.org.
