Haredi Rom-Com at the Israeli Film Festival

Tribe 12 is excited to bring young professionals to opening night of the 27th Philadelphia’s Israeli Film Festival!

The opening night film is Matchmaking (in Hebrew: Bochrim Tovim) from director Erez Tadmor, an “endlessly witty, visually rapturous, and sweetly romantic Romeo and Juliet-like saga of two young, eligible ultra-Orthodox singles looking for a match”. The film is presented in Hebrew and Yiddish with English subtitles. If you’ve watched Israeli shows on Netflix, you’ll recognize many in the cast like Amit Rahav from ‘Unorthodox‘, Maor Schwitzer from ‘Shtisel‘ and Irit Kaplan from ‘The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem‘.

The film is at 8:45pm and our in-house matchmakers, Danielle and Michal (who, shameless plug, are also hosts of our newest podcast, The Yentas) will host a pre-show happy hour at Lucha Cartel (207 Chestnut St.) beginning at 6:30pm.

While this event is of course a great place to meet people who are dating in Philly’s Jewish community, all are welcome to attend. Thanks to our friends at the Israeli Film Festival, we are pleased to offer a limited number of discounted $15 tickets to this event. Grab one before we sell out!
