Shabbat Service Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Help welcome the Chester Children’s Chorus as our guests. The children will sing from our bimah, and you won’t want to miss the magic of their music and the mission of this chorus.

Dr. John Alston, former Associate Professor of Music at Swarthmore College, founded the Chorus in 1994 to offer Chester children the opportunity to change their lives through music. Today, the Chester Children’s Chorus numbers 130 children, ages 8-18, from every school in the city of Chester, PA.

We are grateful to the Miles Jellinek Music Fund for supporting the participation of the Chester Children’s Chorus in our worship service, as part of our commemoration honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Thank you to Elizabeth and Bruce Rubin for bringing the Chester Children’s Chorus to RS and for providing the opportunity for dinner and fellowship for the singers and families in our Berkman Mercaz Limud.
