Join Repair the World Philadelphia for Schmear & Volunteer: December Day of Service as we volunteer with a variety of service partners throughout the greater Philadelphia area. There are a variety of sites in need of volunteers, so register for whichever project speaks to you!
We’ll kick off the day at our workshop, 4029 Market Street, for brunch with fellow volunteers before heading to the different sites. There will be bagels, coffee, and a variety of other breakfast foods; you won’t want to miss it!
Philly FIGHT: From 1-3 pm, Philly FIGHT and Repair the World are teaming up for a children’s winter clothing drive that will kick off on December Day of Service! Staying at the workshop (4029 Market St), volunteers will help run the clothing drive by organizing donations, and we will also be making holiday cards for Philly FIGHT clients.
In-JOY Chanukah with Jewish Family and Children’s Service: From 1-3 pm, volunteer and celebrate Chanukah with JFCS! At Congregation Adath Jeshurun (7763 Old York Rd), “In-JOY” music, dancing, food, community, and a Franklin Institute chemistry and fire show. Help out with registration/check-in, doing crafts, and serving food!
Gladwyne Jewish Memorial Cemetery: From 1-3 pm, come to 1130 Vaughan Ln and help beautify the cemetery by doing activities such as clearing weeds and lining paths with wood chips!
Philadelphia Parks & Recreation: From 12-2pm, come to 12th & York Street to help clean up Fotterall Square! Volunteers will assist with clearing weeds and leaves from areas of the park in order to brighten the space!
