In early February 2018 there was a small but very disturbing islamophobic protest outside Masjid Al-Jamia, the mosque at 43rd and Walnut, during Friday prayers.
Please join Kol Tzedek Synagogue and the West Philly Coalition Against Islamophobia to show our support for our Muslim neighbors and stand in solidarity with them, EVERY Friday from 1pm-2pm.
We will gather weekly outside of the mosque to be a supportive counterpresence in case of any further problems.
Please note we will NEVER engage directly with islamophobic protesters if they are present again.
Jewish people are encouraged to wear tallit and/or kippot if you have them and it is in your practice.
Signs are encouraged with positive messaging such as:
We love our Muslim Neighbors
Jews in Solidarity with our Muslim Neighbors
We ALL belong here
Never Again means for Everyone
