Story Slam: A Light in the Dark

Hanukkah Story Slam: A Light in the Dark
Presented by Repair The World: Philadelphia and Moishehouse Philly
RSVP- https://goo.gl/Neah1R

Each Hanukkah we tell the story of the surprise victory of the Maccabees over the Greeks and their re-dedication of the Temple. At a dark time for the Jews, they managed to keep the light alive within. We celebrate this story of fighting for freedom and rediscovering spirituality by lighting candles on some of the longest nights of the year.

This year we invite you to tell your story of how you found a light in the dark. If you do not want to tell a story, you are just as important. Come enjoy food, drinks, and inspiration from the stories being shared. Please join us as we honor the tradition of Hanukkah with a candle lighting beginning at 6pm. All are welcome.

If you are interested in telling a story, make sure to select the “Storyteller Ticket” option. Make sure to register-https://goo.gl/Neah1R
Feel free to reach out to Jonah Adams, who has told a Moth story at World Cafe Live, for help developing your story.

For Storytellers-
In the spirit of The Moth, there are a few rules:
1. Your story must be true as attested to by you
2. You must tell a story with a beginning, middle, and end
3. Your story must be between 5 and 6 minutes long
4. Your story must fit the theme of the night
