Transgender Identities and Inclusion Workshop

This workshop is designed for non-transgender members of the wider Kol Tzedek community. We will learn an overview of trans identities and get an opportunity to learn best practices to respect our trans neighbors and friends. All participants will learn concrete actions they can take to be more effective allies.

If you’ve never attended a workshop on transgender identities, or if you’ve ever felt worried about hurting or harming the trans members of our community, I’d really encourage you to come.

Please note: while this is not designed for trans folks, all are welcome to attend; this being said, the focus of the workshop will be on educating cisgender allies.

Taught and facilitated by Galia Godel, the LGBTQ Initiative program manager at JFCS.

Date: Sunday, May 5th, 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Location: the Kol Tzedek office, 707 s. 50th Street – NOTE: if there are more than 30 ticket registrants, the workshop will move to the gym of the Calvary Community Center at 48th and Baltimore.
Price: Suggested donation of $5 – $10 dollars, but no one turned away for lack of funds. All funds collected from this event will go towards running more LGBTQ cultural competency workshops in the Jewish community.
