Tribe 12 Goes to the Movies
Monday? Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn. Add a little culture and class (You don’t understand! I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender!) to your week by starting Monday night off right: with cocktails and cinema!

Join us at NMAJH (National Museum of American Jewish History) as we partner with the Gershman Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival for a festive happy hour and special movie screening. Tribe 12 members get discounted tickets- here’s looking at you, kid, so register on our site now and we’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse- aka we will send you an email with a discount code to use to purchase your tickets. Your ticket also includes access to our exclusive, kinda-themed, super fun, pre-film happy hour and ONE DRINK TICKET!

Schedule for the night:
6:15-7:15: Happy Hour at Lucha Cartel (down the street from the screening)
7:30-9 pm: Screening of Leona
9 pm: Director & Artist Q&A

From 6:15-7:15, we will be hosting a Tribe 12/Young Friends of GPJFF happy hour/cocktail party, complete with themed cocktails crafted specifically for the movie and other fun drink specials, along with Mexican appetizers like guacamole, salsa, chips, queso, and more! Again, did we mention you get a DRINK TICKET?!? Then, at 7:30, we’ll transition to the theater to watch LEONA.

LEONA offers a rare and intimate glimpse into a young Jewish woman’s coming-of-age in Mexico City. When Ariela (Najan González Norvind) first moves in with Iván (Christian Vazquez), she hopes that living together will bring the young couple closer, but instead, it becomes clear that a courtship with Iván will not be tolerated and prolonging their affair would only result in being rejected by her community and shunned by her own family.

After the screening, stick around for a quick Q&A with director Isaac Cherem via Skype and Philly native and featured artist in the movie, Caitlin Herrschaft.

AS A BONUS, if you’re one of the first three people to DM us (/email us india@tribe12.org) all the movies we quoted/referenced in this description, your next drink at a Tribe 12 event will be free!
