Tribe 12 Spring Shabbat Clusters

Tribe 12 is delighted to partner with OneTable for our third round of Shabbat Clusters!

This Spring we are experimenting with a new format for Shabbat clusters! Instead of meeting in houses across the city, all clusters will gather at the Weitzman National Museum for American Jewish History to enjoy Shabbat with their cluster. Clusters are a great way to create connections in the Jewish community and this new format will provide the intimacy of past Shabbat clusters with the energy and opportunity of a large Shabbat community meal! Each cluster will be assigned a table according to their affinity and folks will have the opportunity to mingle with members of other clusters as well. Shabbat dinners will take place on March 29, April 19,  and May 17, and each cluster is encouraged to welcome Shabbat in whatever way is most meaningful to the group. Ideally you’re available all three Fridays but if you’re only free for two, that’s ok too!

How are Clusters formed?

We provide a list of cluster themes below – We will place you in one of the groups you request that has available space. Each cluster has 8-10 participants and 1-2 Shabbat Cluster “table hosts”.

These in-person dinners take place once a month on March 29, April 19, and May 17.

What if I am not free one of the days?

Sign up anyway and depending on demand we may be able to get you into a cluster!

Do I have to pay for this?

Yes! Registration for Shabbat Clusters costs $36 (for the entire series). You must pay in order to confirm your registration and reserve your spot. You will NOT be refunded if you are unable to attend all three dinners or unexpectedly miss a dinner. Your financial contribution goes directly toward funding the meal and ritual items for the dinners. If cost is a barrier to attendance, please let us know via the form below!

Is food and drink provided?

Tribe 12 will provide the meal, challah, grape juice and 1 bottle of wine per table / cluster. You are encouraged to bring additional wine and/or non-alcoholic beverages to share with your table (BYOB).

Meals will either be all vegetarian, or include kosher meat + vegetarian options. We have a place for you to submit dietary needs below.

Is this going to be a “traditional Shabbat dinner”?

Not necessarily! We will lead a simple welcoming Shabbat ritual at the start of the gathering; after that we encourage Shabbat Cluster table hosts to help facilitate conversation topics and/or rituals that meet the interests and needs of the group!

Is there a deadline to register?

Yes! The deadline to submit this registration form and send us your $36 payment is March 15. We will be emailing everyone confirmation details about your cluster placement early in the week of March 18.

If there are any remaining spots after March 18 we may allow last minute sign-ups that week; but this is not guaranteed.

What about accessibility?

All cluster members must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to participate. Masks are welcome but optional. The museum is ADA accessible. You may submit information about your dietary restrictions in the form below.

Anything else?

We will be looking for 1-2 folks per cluster to agree to be cluster “table hosts”. This means you are willing to take some responsibility and initiative to facilitate ritual activities and/or conversation topics at your table. You may also be asked to assist with One Table registration logistics for the dinners.

In addition to completing this registration form, ALL participants will be required to RSVP on our partner OneTable’s website for each of the dinners. This dinner is being hosted as part of a partnership between OneTable and Tribe 12. By registering for this dinner, you are agreeing to receive email communications from both organizations. More information and instructions will be provided to you in your mid-March confirmation email. This is a REQUIREMENT for participation. Thank you for your cooperation!
