WINTER HUNT | Presented by the Gershman Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival
Lena (Carolyn Genzkow), a young woman bent on revenge, knocks on the front door of an isolated German estate where an elderly ex-Nazi guard and his daughter reside.
Both Anselm (Michael Degen, Hannah Arendt) and Maria (Elisabeth Degen, Aimée & Jaguar) deny Anselm’s involvement in what happened to Lena’s grandmother in Auschwitz — and they stick to their story, even as Lena holds them both at gunpoint insisting on the truth. While Lena appears a cool and composed assassin, Anselm appears, at best, a befuddled old man, and his daughter, his meek devotee. However, it soon becomes clear that no one is who they seem as the three engage in a delicate dance of manipulation, doubt, and blame. As the evening lingers on, morals and convictions are tested in this taut psychological thriller exploring a generational legacy of violence, truth in memory, and the fine line between the hunter and the hunted.
Anchored by powerhouse performances, WINTER HUNT is filled with shocking revelations that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
