Hey kickass Philly Jewish women* — join us for some brunching, learning, and shmoozing to meet other amazing women in the city and learn about Wominyan.
When the Temple was destroyed, a council of men came together to reshape Judaism into the practices we still hold dear today. But what if women would have been a part of that Sanhedrin council? Wominyan is a community of 20-30s Jewish women* that reclaims our seat at the table by exploring intersections of Judaism and gender as we each define our own Jewish practices. Through immersive learning retreats (with one coming up Dec 1-3) and events throughout the year, we tackle all kinds of topics related to Jewish-womanhood, from Jewish heroines on TV (#abbiandilana) to feminist readings of the term JAP to text studies of Queen Esther leadership style.
Learn more about Wominyan Philly over bagels and shmear. You can also visit www.wominyan.com to learn more about the upcoming retreat.
