In a workshop loosely called ‘Death & Dating’, death doula Isabel Knight will lead an obituary writing workshop in the context of how you tell your own story when dating online. Because part of this event is being filmed by a media organization, it is invitation only.

Neurodivergent Speed Dating
“You’re on the autism spectrum, and that makes socializing really difficult. It’s not enough to be smart, funny and a caring person… you need people to share that with. And not just any people, but the right people. New friends who are excited to make plans with you. Dates who are excited to get to know you. A girlfriend or boyfriend who can’t wait to spend time with you and fall in love with you.” — Jeremy Hamburgh
Join Tribe 12’s matchmakers and My Best Social Life‘s Jeremy Hamburgh for a virtual speed dating event for Jewish people in their 20s and 30s who are neurodivergent, on the autism spectrum, or socialize differently. We welcome neurotypical people who are interested in dating neurodivergent people to attend as well. Jeremy will present principles from his ‘Social Life 360 Strategy’ on how to be successful in a dating environment and Tribe 12’s in-house matchmakers Danielle Selber and Michal Naisteter will facilitate a guided speed dating experience. Join us!
Valentine’s Day Volunteering
Valentine’s Day not really your thing? Tribe 12, Repair the World and Free Minds invite you to opt out of the holiday and elevate it with a virtual volunteering experience.
We will be reading and responding directly to the moving poetic words of currently incarcerated poets. We will have a conversation with Free Minds Poet Ambassadors, then transition to independently reading and responding to poetry using an online whiteboard tool. It is a simple and powerful way to support the processes of self-awareness and change, as well as read great writing and meet other volunteers! Together, we will use poetry and storytelling to connect individuals on both sides of the prison walls, and to promote hope and healing through literary art.
Whether you are single, coupled, or something in between, we invite you to participate. No prior knowledge of poetry or writing required.

Mahjong Meeting #2
Have you heard your grandmother talk about playing this game, or…do you remember listening to clicking tiles (and getting good leftover snacks) when your mom’s friends came over to play?
Have you wanted to connect with thousands of other Jewish people and have fun learning a new game? Mahj-jong is a game of using tiles from different suits to create a winning combination. In between your turns, there’s plenty of opportunity to socialize! Everyone is welcome to join us, whether your grandma taught you or you just saw the word for the first time.
Join the group while spots are still open!
We will meet once a month in Center City

Engagement Collaborative
Engagement Collaborative: Empowering Community Builders of Tomorrow
Join Tribe 12 this spring for our first-ever cohort experience centered around building relationships and community!
At Tribe 12, we strongly believe that developing one’s Jewish identity and engaging in Jewish life must be natural, self learned, and affirmed by trusted peer networks. The core foundation of this experience is community, which is rooted in the forming of meaningful relationships.
Our Engagement Collaborative is for anyone looking to connect with an intimate group of peers while learning the tools of leadership and relational engagement. This cohort will meet mostly on Tuesdays and begin with 3 sessions on relational engagement, followed by a weekend-long community building retreat. Participants will then have the opportunity to choose a specialty track of community building or matchmaking for an additional 3 sessions, ending with a culminating experience at Tribe 12’s Fellowship Launch Night on May 9th. Sessions will be led by Tribe 12 staff and guest experts.
Session dates (All session will be on Tuesday’s from 6:30-8:30 PM in Center City unless otherwise noted)
3 opening sessions on relational engagement: February 21st, 28th, March 14th
Community Building Retreat: March 10 – 12 (required)
3 sessions with a specialty track: March 21, 28, April 18
Culminating element at Launch Night: May 9th
The cost for this program and the retreat are $100 (this is for a shared room at the retreat, private room or double will cost more). All sessions will include dinner.
We aim to empower individuals with the skills and confidence to act as leaders, guides and connectors to help other individuals find their place in the community and the world, all the while cultivating their own. People who participate in this program may have access to Tribe 12 leadership positions upon completion of this program, such as paid roles like acting as matchmakers, tribe leaders and engagers.
You do not need to decide in advance which specialty track you would like to choose, but if you do know please tell us upon registering. If you have any questions please reach out to Megan@tribe12.org to learn more!
