Judge Harold Berger (Retired) has long been active in national bar and judicial affairs. He is the recipient of numerous awards, as outlined in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in the World, including the National Service Award of the Federal Bar Association for Distinguished Service to the Federal and State Judiciary, a Special American Bar Association Presidential Program Award and a Special Service Award of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges. He is a permanent member of the Judicial Conference of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and is a graduate of both the Engineering and Law Schools of the University of Pennsylvania. Judge Berger serves on Penn’s Board of Overseers, as Chair of the Friends of Penn’s Biddle Law Library and was elected to the International Academy of Astronautics and Aeronautics in Paris. Long active in civic and community affairs, Judge Berger serves as a trustee of the Federation of Jewish Charities of Greater Philadelphia, as a trustee of the National Museum of American Jewish History and as a member of the national board of HIAS, among his many other activities. He is a Senior Partner and Managing Principal of Berger & Montague, P.C., a center city Philadelphia law firm.
