The NJGs (Nice Jewish Girls) Who Read book club is a group of women in their 20s & 30s who have a shared love for reading and want to be able to meet friends while discussing great books! The goal is to pick fun books written by Jewish female authors, or that have storylines featuring Jewish female protagonists. We welcome all people who self-identify with or as women, genderqueer, gender-nonconforming, and nonbinary.

Arts and Craft Tribe
Do you like arts-and-craftsy things like knitting or cross stitch? Are Michael’s, JoAnne Fabrics, and A.C. Moore your favorite places to hang out? Join our Arts and Craft Tribe for creative sessions, each featuring a different craft that we’ll start together and finish at home
Jewish Communal Professionals
We are a Tribe for local folks in their 20s and 30s who spend their days (and often nights) working professionally for the Jewish community. We work for Federation, Hillels, Social Justice Organizations and more! We meet for brunch or happy hour every 4-6 weeks at varying in-person locations and build connections with one another! If you are a Jewish Professional please join us!
Well Read Mensches
The Well Read Mensches meets to read and discuss books, articles, and other media on topics that warrant discussion in our community. All who are interested in exploring the Philly Jewish Young Men community are welcome, including non-binary, questioning, and gender diverse people who identify with masculinity.
20somethings
Want to meet people who get all the same pop culture references you do? Our 20somethings Tribe invites you to come hang out with your peers!
Movement
Are you looking to get outside and move your body while making new friends? Join our Movement Tribe! From yoga and hiking to Young Jewish Philly intramural sports leagues with Heyday like kickball and volleyball – there’s something for everyone!
Couples
Are you and your significant other looking to make friends with other Jewish couples in their 20s and 30s? Think Shabbat dinners, game nights, Philly outings and more… Couples Tribe is the perfect place to do that in a fun and low-key environment!
Mah-jong
Have you heard your grandmother talk about playing this game, or…do you remember listening to clicking tiles (and getting good leftover snacks) when your mom’s friends came over to play? Have you wanted to connect with thousands of other Jewish people and have fun learning a new game?
Mah-jong is a game of using tiles from different suits to create a winning combination. In between your turns, there’s plenty of opportunity to socialize! Everyone is welcome to join us, whether your grandma taught you or you just saw the word for the first time.
Comedy
Have you wanted to write comedy but don’t know where to start? Come join us! Our group will meet from January to April, preparing for a Sketch Comedy presentation in May. We will use improv games to warm up and find character/scene ideas. Then we will spend most of our time writing sketches together and sharing jokes and ideas. Each month will be kicked off by a piece of Jewish wisdom to inspire us to live out our Jewish values through community, connection, and collaboration. Everyone will write and brainstorm, and those who want to will help perform the sketches in May! Come to as many sessions as you can, and attend the last 2 if you want to be part of the show.
LGBTQIA+
Our LGBTQIA+ programming is for anyone in their 20s/30s in Philadelphia who wants to explore the intersectionality of Jewish and queer identities. Note: We take measures to protect those in this Tribe, so nearly all LGBTQIA+ events are privately-listed on Facebook. Visit our LGBTQIA+ page to learn more!
30somethings
Tired of going to meet new people, only to find they’re in a far different place in life than you? Whether you’re settled in a career, relationship, or just want to mingle with a more mature crowd, our 30somethings tribe meets every so often to fill a space just for them!
Moon Circle
At the beginning of each month, Jewish people all over the world get together to mark the beginning of a new month on the Hebrew lunar calendar. We welcome all who feel they belong in a Jewish-woman’s space – regardless of sex assigned at birth, gender expression, religious history or practice.
